Our story: passion for excellence
Our family owned company began its journey in 1955 We were first formed in Petersburg Va as a distributor of the National Brewing/Balantine/Falstraff Brewing/Dr. Pepper Companies.
We were first incorporated in July 1955, by Edward E. Phillips and John Spence - Our first warehouse was on Broad street in Blackstone. John Osborne Sr. began working for Dr. Pepper in June of 1957 and one year later he purchased Mr. Spences shares and he (and Liz Osborne) became partial owners.
Mr. Osborne and his wife, Liz, started to add wine brands to the company, beginning with Richards Wine Cellars, Mogen David and Taylor wines. In 1962 the company moved to its new distribution facility on Brown Street. In 1965 Johnny Osborne joined the company. In 1972 the "Osborne Family" was able to purchase the remaining company shares from the Ed Phillips family and later that year became a distributor for the worlds largest winery, E&J Gallo.
After the tragic death of Liz Osborne in December of 1973, Johnny Osborne became vice presidnet and salesmanger. Upon Graduation in 1976 Mac Osborne, joined the company. He was appointed President, when John Osborne Sr. retired in 1985. After the sudden death of Johnny Osborne in 1987, the company appointed Suzann Osborne as Vice President.
Today, Mac Osborne, along with some of the most experienced beverage account manangers and merchandisers in all of Southern Virginia, proudly , sell and serivce thousands of products, to close to 400 retailers, resturants and others establishments.
We are proud to offer you, not just Beers, but some of the best Malt, Wine, RTD Spirits and Soft Drinks sold in the world.
